Disclose medical information when applying for life and health insurance
and travel policies. If you don't, your insurance company may decline your
claim. The same applies to car insurance: be honest about your driving record.

Keep your debit cards and PIN numbers in different places so you will be
less vulnerable if one is lost. Photocopy the contents of your wallet and
store in a safe place, along with phone numbers required to cancel cards.

Before seeking legal counsel to resolve a complaint, explore all informal
avenues. Most Ombudsmen cannot review a case once legal action has been initiated.
